DANBURY, CONN. -- Third-seeded William Paterson (8-8, 3-6 NJAC) will play second-seeded Mount Saint Mary (11-7-2, 8-1-1 Skyline) in the ECAC Women's Soccer Tournament quarterfinals Saturday, Nov. 13, at 2:00 p.m. at Alfred University.
HOW TO FOLLOW THE MATCH
WHERE
WHAT'S AT STAKE
- The WP/MSMC winner will advance to the semifinals Sunday, Nov. 14, at 12:00 p.m. against the winner of the No. 1 Alfred/No. 4 Westminster quarterfinal.
- In the other pod's quarterfinals Nov. 13, No. 1 FDU-Florham hosts No. 4 Rutgers-Newark, as well as No. 2 Stockton vs. No. 3 Marywood. The two winners will square off in the semifinal round Nov. 14.
- The championship game will be conducted Saturday or Sunday, Nov. 20 or 21, at a site to be determined.
WP IN THE ECAC TOURNAMENT
- The Pioneers are making their ninth ECAC Tournament appearance (2000, 2003, 2008, 2009, 2012, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2021). WP won the 2009 title.
SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
- William Paterson is 8-8 overall and 3-6 in conference play this season. The Pioneers finished the regular season by winning three of their last four matches.
- A member of the 2021 All-NJAC Second Team, sophomore forward Julia Fiorito (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) started 13 of 16 contests, scoring a team-best five goals.
- A starter in all 16 contests, both of senior back Megan Ponce's (Clifton, N.J./Paramus Catholic) goals this season were game winners as she secured second-team all-NJAC laurels.
- Members of the All-NJAC Honorable Mention, senior forward Daniella LoBue (Clifton, N.J./Clifton) tied for the team lead with three assists while starting all 15 appearances this fall, and senior back Kayla Miller (Hawthorne, N.J./Hawthorne) had two goals and an assist while starting all 16 matches this fall.
- Senior midfielder Isabel Fernandez (Kearny, N.J./Kearny) paces WP with four goals and 11 points.
- Graduate student Erica Hickey (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y./Comsewogue) has started 15 times between the posts, recording a 1.42 goals-against average, .716 save percentage, 53 saves and three shutouts.
SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS
- Mount Saint Mary is 11-7-2 overall and 8-1-1 in league play after falling 2-0 to Farmingdale State in the Skyline Conference Tournament final Nov. 6.
- Graduate student back Brittany Bornstad leads MSMC with 19 points (5 g, 9 a).
- Sophomore back Raina Quinones has added seven goals and an assist.
- Sophomore Christina Kakavas has compiled a 0.96 goals-against average, .826 save percentage, 71 saves and five shutouts.
