Women’s Soccer Comes Up Short in ECAC Tournament Final, 2-0

Third-Seeded Pioneers Fall to Second-Seeded Stockton

WAYNE, N.J. – Second-seeded Stockton (15-6-3) took home the ECAC Women's Soccer Tournament title with a 2-0 victory at third-seeded William Paterson (9-9-1) Nov. 20 during the championship match at Pioneer Soccer Park.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Neither team could capitalize on its opportunities until sophomore midfielder Maddie Klein received an Erica Dietz pass at the top of the box and chipped a shot into the Pioneer goal, making it a 1-0 Stockton lead in the 63rd minute.
  • The Ospreys added an insurance goal at the 81:12 mark when sophomore midfielder Rylee Getter slipped a ball through to senior midfielder Susan Porambo, who got on the end of it and finished for a 2-0 advantage.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Graduate student Erica Hickey (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y./Comsewogue) was credited with seven saves for WP, and senior Kylee Sullivan made one stop for Stockton.
