WAYNE, N.J.- The William Paterson men's soccer team (4-7-2, 0-4-1 NJAC) and Rowan (8-1-1, 3-1-1 NJAC) played to a 2-2 double-overtime draw. Oct. 9

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Senior forward Jacob Von Giebel (Lambertville, N.J./South Hunterdon) kicked off the scoring in the fifth minute, chipping the ball over the goalie's head off a full-field pass from graduate student back Martin Menendez (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central Regional).
• Rowan evened the score in the 33rd minute off a penalty kick.
• Rowan took over the lead in the 51th minute.
• Von Giebel converted a header off a corner kick less then one minute later, tying the game at 2-2.
• After two scoreless overtimes, the match ended in a draw.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Von Giebel scored his sixth and seventh goals of the season.
• Junior goalkeeper Thomas Hatch (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon) recorded six saves.
