WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team (1-0) earned a 112-73 season-opening win against Baruch (0-3) Oct. 29

TOP PERFORMERS:

• Senior Taylor Friedman (South Amboy, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) secured three first-place finishes for the Pioneers in the 100 fly (1:07.23), 100 back (1:12.39), and 200 IM (2:30.71).
• Sophomore Abigail Malandro (Beach Haven, N.J./Southern Regional) also touched the wall first three times for WP, earning victories in the 50 free (26.54), 100 free (58.67) and 200 free (2:14.95).
• The 200-medley team consisting of junior Emily Murphy (Stockholm, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional), sophomore Nicole Kahwaty (Lakke Hopatcong, N.J./Morris County Tech), sophomore Melody Espin (Colonia, N.J./Colonia) and junior Stephany Bolanos (Perth Amboy, N.J./Academy for Allied Health & Biomedical Sciences) secured a first-place finish with a total time of 2:21.71.
