WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's soccer team (7-7) evened its overall record with a 4-0 victory against Pratt (4-7-1) Oct. 19 at Pioneer Soccer Park.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Senior back Megan Ponce (Clifton, N.J./Paramus Catholic) headed in Elisa Zuta's (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes) corner kick in the sixth minute, handing the Pioneers an early 1-0 edge.
• Junior midfielder Lindsey Ash (Egg Harbor Twp., N.J./Atlantic Christian) created some space near the top-left of the box to unleash a shot at the 12:18 mark, doubling WP's lead.
• Freshman midfielder Madelynn Spink (Bellmawr, N.J./Audubon) drove a ball from the top of the box into the upper-right corner of the frame for a 3-0 score in the 54th minute, connecting on a pass from classmate Lauren Hutchison (South Plainfield, N.J./South Plainfield).
• Freshman Diana Zuta (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes) headed in a corner kick by her sister Elisa, finishing the scoring at the 87:47 mark.

 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Graduate student Erica Hickey (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y./Comsewogue) and junior Brooke Sachau (Franklin Twp., N.J./Franklin) split the time in the Pioneers' goal. Neither one was forced to make a save.
• Ash and Diana Zuta (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes) collected their first career goals.
