WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson's women's swimming and diving team (10-1, 1-1 NJAC) honored its three seniors on Senior Appreciation Day while notching a 104-86 triumph over visiting Lehman (3-5, 0-2 CUNYAC) Jan. 11.
Anna Boyton (Sewell, N.J./Clearview Regional),
Mariah Jenkins (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Saviour) and
Ashley Lawler (Linwood, N.J./Mainland Regional) were recognized for their dedication to the program over the past four years.
TOP PERFORMERS:
- The Senior Appreciation meet began with a Pioneer victory in the 200 medley relay. Together sophomore Taylor Friedman (South Amboy, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) (32.76), senior Mariah Jenkins (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Saviour) (35.63), senior Anna Boyton (Sewell, N.J./Clearview Regional) (32.05) and junior Iris Santos (Paterson, N.J./Passaic County Tech) (29.43) placed first with a time of 2:09.87.
- Senior Ashley Lawler (Linwood, N.J./Mainland Regional) recorded first place in the one-meter dive with 171.07 points and the three-meter dive with 208.35 points.
- Classmate Anna Boyton (Sewell, N.J./Clearview Regional) tallied a win in the 100 fly (1:12.19) and fellow senior Mariah Jenkins (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Saviour) touched first in the 100 breast (1:19.03).
- Sophomore Megan Hoopes (Westmont, N.J./Haddon Twp.) took first in a pair of races against the Lightning. Her performances in the 200 free (2:09.25) and the 500 free (5:48.17) helped the Pioneers with the lead.
- Friedman was also a double winner. The sophomore earned victories in the 200 IM (2:39.72) and the 100 back (1:11.76).
- Sophomore Leah Santonastaso (Newton, N.J./Kittatinny Regional) touched first in the 1000 free (13:33.87).
- Santos out-touched her competition in the 50 free, notching a time of 28.55.
