Men’s Soccer Falls to Washington and Lee During Season Opener

Quigley Makes a Career-High 14 Saves for Pioneers in 4-0 Loss

WALTHAM, MASS. – Senior Kyle Quigley (Columbus, N.J./Northern Burlington Regional) stopped a career-best 14 shots but the William Paterson men's soccer team (0-1) dropped a 4-0 season-opening decision to Washington and Lee (1-0) Aug. 30 at the Brandeis Classic.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • A pair of headers gave the Generals a 2-0 lead midway through the first half, and Washington and Lee added an unassisted strike in the 55th minute as well as a goal off the post at the 76:00 mark.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Quigley bested his previous best of 10 saves with 14 against the Generals, seven coming during each half. He added to his WP career saves record, increasing the top mark to 221.

  • The Pioneers face Roger Williams Saturday, Aug. 31, at Brandeis at 4:00 p.m.
