WAYNE, N.J. – Following a 102-93 victory over visiting Kean (3-6, 0-4 NJAC), the William Paterson women's swimming and diving team (8-1, 1-1 NJAC) notched a conference win against the Cougars for the third straight season Dec. 3.
 
TOP PERFORMERS:

• The 200 medley relay was a triumphant opening race for the Pioneers.  Sophomore Taylor Friedman (South Amboy, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) (30.05), senior Mariah Jenkins (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Saviour) (33.83), freshman Jillian Starace (Toms River/Toms River East) (28.51) and sophomore Megan Hoopes (Westmont, N.J./Haddon Twp.) (25.84) combined for a first-place finish (1:58.23).
• Hoopes continued her winning ways, recording victories in her individual races against the Cougars. She out-touched the competition in the 50 free by .02 seconds (26.62) and posted a winning time in the 100 free (57.64).
• Friedman was a double winner as well, placing first in the 200 IM and the 100 back.  She swam her first individual race in 2:27.77 and the second race in 1:07.31.
• Jenkins took home the final individual race of the meet, placing first in the 100 breast with a 1:16.18 finish.
