Men’s Soccer Falls at Rutgers-Newark, 5-0

NEWARK, N.J. – The William Paterson men's soccer team (6-7-3, 2-3-2 NJAC) fell at Rutgers-Newark (6-9-1, 2-4-1 NJAC), 5-0, Oct. 23.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Scarlet Raiders got on the board with a 30th-minute penalty kick,  then found the back of the net four times during a 22-minute span during the second half with goals during the 52nd, 56th, 68th and 74th minutes.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Freshman goalkeeper Thomas Hatch (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon) made a career-high 12 saves for the Pioneers.
  • With two regular-season matches remaining, WP is in seventh place in the conference standings, one spot out of the final berth for the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Tournament.
