BRONX, N.Y. – After taking a break from competition between semesters, the William Paterson women's swimming and diving team (7-2, 1-1 NJAC) started the new year off strong by topping Lehman (4-7, 1-3 CUNYAC), 97-52, Jan. 12.
TOP PERFORMERS:
- Freshman Taylor Friedman (South Amboy, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) recorded two victories in the meet. She swam the 200 IM in 2:37.80 and the 100 free in 1:02.30.
- Also a double winner, junior diver Ashley Lawler (Linwood, N.J./Mainland Regional) took home both the one-meter and three-meter diving events.
- Casey Murphy (Hardyston, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) touched first in the 1000 free with a time of 12:09.60. The senior also collected a victory in the 500 free with a time of 6:00.00.
- Senior Christianne Joyce Pineda (Haskell, N.J./Hackensack) defeated her opponents in the 100 fly by touching the wall in 1:10.51.
- Quinn Reynolds (Delran, N.J./Delran) also contributed to the strong senior performances by winning the 50 free in 27.30.
- Junior Mariah Jenkins (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Saviour) took home an individual victory by swimming the 100 breast in 1:19.60.
