Men's Soccer Stays Unbeaten with 2-1 Overtime Triumph at Eastern

Brant-Sharp, Allen Find Back of Net for Pioneers

ST. DAVID'S, PA. – A penalty kick in extra time was the difference as the William Paterson men's soccer team (2-0-1) registered a 2-1 overtime victory at Eastern (2-1) Sept. 8 in the first round of the Jimmy Mills Tournament.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Junior midfielder Cameron Allen (Old Bridge, N.J./Saint John Vianney) converted the PK 3:15 into the extra session for the game-winning goal.
  • Junior forward Keysean Brant-Sharp (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick) headed in a pass from senior midfielder Dylan Fogerty (Red Bank, N.J./Red Bank Regional) in the 32nd minute for a 1-0 WP edge.
  • A steal and finish from the top of the box netted the equalizer for Eastern at the 40:58 mark.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Junior goalkeeper Kyle Quigley (Columbus, N.J./Northern Burlington Regional) notched four saves for the Pioneers.
  • This marked the second straight overtime contest for WP.
 
UP NEXT:
