KISSIMMEE, Fla. – William Paterson softball (5-5) fell 9-3 to Oswego State but freshman shortstop

Game One: Oswego State 9, WP 3
Trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth, Oswego State (2-1) posted a five-run fifth inning to help the Lakers secure a 9-2 victory as the Pioneers took their first loss on the spring break trip.
Sophomore right fielder
Ryan Tighe (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) took Lakers' junior starting pitcher Angela Frampton out of the park to lead off the game with a home run. But, Oswego State regained the lead for good with three runs in their half of the first, using run-scoring doubles from Frampton and junior center fielder Sarah McCullough along with an RBI single off the bat of junior left fielder Jessica Roe.
Freshman righty starter

The Lakers' five runs in the fifth featured four hits and one WP error, with the biggest blows coming on two-RBI singles from McCullough and junior catcher Emily Knowlden.
Tighe added her third RBI of the game with a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh, making it 9-3. The Pioneers had the bases loaded with nobody out after Tighe's walk, but Oswego State brought in sophomore hurler Rebecca Vilchez from right field to quell the rally.
Leading WP was Tighe, going 3-for-3 with a home run, double, single, walk, three RBI and a run scored. Sophomore
Susan Mather (North Andover, Mass./North Andover), senior center fielder

McCullough paced all players, notching four RBI behind a 3-for-4 day at the plate.

Frampton (2-0) was credited with the win, working 6.0 innings while allowing three earned runs on seven hits and three walks. She would punched out two batters. Vilchez struck out the side in 1.0 inning of relief.
Game Two: WP 7, Wooster 6
Wooster (1-1) scored six runs in the top of the sixth to erase a 3-0 deficit, but three more WP runs in the sixth and a walk-off double from Pace completed the comeback, 7-6.
Junior third baseman
Christine Griffith (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands Regional) scored the winning run, reaching with one out in the seventh on an error before scoring all the way from first base.
The first half of the contest was a pitchers duel until WP drew first blood with two in the fourth. Pace provided sacrifice fly that brought in senior second baseman
Adelle Hickman (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Liberty) along with Griffith who scored on an error on the play.
Lutas worked a based-loaded walk in the fifth, bringing in Molnar and creating a 3-0 advantage.
WIth six outs left, Wooster doubled up on WP with six runs, using a seven-hit sixth frame to take the 6-3 advantage. Five RBI singles, a sacrifice fly from sophomore designated player Savanna Hitlan and a Chase RBI double provided all Wooster would score on the day.
The Pioneers' game-tying response in the bottom of the sixth featured three hits and an error. Freshman designated player
Caitlyn Massaro (Madison, N.J./Madison) doubled and scored on a Molnar RBI single. Byrnes, now in at pitcher, reached on an error by the Fighting Scots' shortstop, scoring Molnar, and Lutas finished the frame with an RBI triple.
Byrnes would strike out two of the three batters she faced in the seventh before Pace and the Pioneers walked off with the win.
