The Pioneers Defeat the Cougars for the Second Year in a Row for an NJAC Victory

Junior Anna Boyton assisted the Pioneers in both the medley relay and 100 fly.

UNION, N.J. – The women's swimming and diving team (5-2, 1-1 NJAC) defeated Kean (1-3, 0-3 NJAC), 124-73, on Dec. 4 to tally an NJAC victory against the Cougars for the second year in a row.

TOP PERFORMERS:

The Pioneers took home both relays of the night. The 200 medley relay was completed in 2:05.12 by freshman Cecilia Murray (West New York, N.J./Memorial) (32.02), junior Mariah Jenkins (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Saviour) (35.91), junior Anna Boyton (Sewell, N.J./Clearview Regional) (30.13), and senior Quinn Reynolds (Delran, N.J./Delran) (27.06).
William Paterson collected the win in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:56.32. Sophomore Iris Santos (Paterson, N.J./Passaic County Tech) (28.71), freshman Morgan Hodges (Howell, N.J./Freehold Twp.) (29.26), senior Christianne Joyce Pineda (Haskell, N.J./Hackensack) (28.97), and freshman Taylor Friedman (South Amboy, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) (29.38) worked together to defeat the Cougars.
Senior Casey Murphy (Hardyston, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) recorded two victories. She touched first in the 1000 free with a time of 12:17.33, and also the 100 free with a time of 1:00.94.
Friedman defeated her opponents in the 200 IM with a time of 2:34.22.
Reynolds won the 100 back in 1:05.70.
Boyton completed the 100 fly in 1:08.81 to beat her competition.
