Men’s Soccer Shuts Out Baruch, 2-0

Strickon, Harley Provide the Goals for Pioneers

Video Highlights

WAYNE, N.J. – Freshman forward Josh Strickon (Sewell, N.J./Washington Twp.) and senior forward Brandon Harley (Pennsauken, N.J./Pennsauken) both found the back of the net to help lead the William Paterson men's soccer team (8-4-1) to a 2-0 non-conference victory against visiting Baruch (7-4-1) Oct. 8.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • A corner kick played into the box made its way to senior back Zach Perez (Edison, N.J./Rutgers Prep), who sent it to Strickon on the left side. He finished the opportunity for his first career goal and a 1-0 advantage at the 23:19 mark.
  • WP doubled its lead in the 54th minute when Harley made a sliding stab at junior midfielder Cameron Allen's (Old Bridge, N.J./Saint John Vianney) corner kick, converting from the middle of the box.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Freshman Gabriel Reyes (Paterson, N.J./Ramstein) made his career start in goal, recording his first shutout without having to make a save.
  • The Pioneers out-shot the Bearcats, 15-1, and recorded their third victory in their last four matches.

UP NEXT:
  • William Paterson welcomes Rutgers-Newark to Wayne on Wednesday, Oct. 10, for a 7:00 p.m. conference match.
