Women's Swimming and Diving Improves its Record to 3-1 After Defeating SUNY Maritime

Murphy and Reynolds Were Both Double Winners

Junior Ashley Lawler dominated the diving by tallying high scores in both events.

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team (3-1) earned a victory during its home opener with a 137-88 score against SUNY Maritime (0-1) Oct. 30.

TOP PERFORMERS:

Four Pioneers worked together to finish the 200 medley relay in 2:08.36. The victory was collected by freshman Cecilia Murray (West New York, N.J./Memorial) (31.59), junior Mariah Jenkins (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Saviour) (37.51), junior Anna Boyton (Sewell, N.J./Clearview Regional) (30.51), and freshman Morgan Hodges (Howell, N.J./Freehold Twp.) (28.75).
Junior diver Ashley Lawler (Linwood, N.J./Mainland Regional) recorded a score of 181.5 in the one-meter dive and a 160.7 judgment in the three-meter dive to dominate the diving events.
Senior Casey Murphy (Hardyston, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) won out two races, first the 200 free in 2:10.21, then the 500 free in 5:56.10.
Quinn Reynolds (Delran, N.J./Delran) was also a double winner. The senior completed the 50 free in 26.63 and the 100 back in 1:04.26.
Jenkins touched the wall first in the 100 breast with a time of 1:23.11.
Freshman Taylor Friedman (South Amboy, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) tallied a victory in the 200 IM with a time of 2:33.06.
