MAHWAH, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team fell to rival Ramapo (3-6, 2-3 NJAC) on the road Jan. 30, losing 125-60 in the Pioneers' (11-4, 1-3 NJAC) final road meet of the regular season.
Sophomore
Mariah Jenkins (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Saviour) notched nine points in the first-place slot for the Pioneers in the 200 breast (2:51.06).
Junior
Casey Murphy (Hardyston, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) was just off the pace in two events, posting good times in both the 500 free (6:00.63) and 1,000 free (12:19.36) to earn eight points in individual events with a pair of second-place times.
Classmate
Christianne Joyce Pineda (Haskell, N.J./Hackensack) touched the wall in 2:38.13 during the 200 fly as she finished just off the first-place mark in the event. Another junior,
Quinn Reynolds (Delran, N.J./Delran), posted a 2:22.54 to secure four points for the Pioneers in the 200 back, while freshman
Iris Santos (Paterson, N.J./Passaic County Tech) continued her strong inaugural season in the Orange and Black by turning in a 58.81 to earn four points in the 100 free.
The aforementioned four Pioneers also teamed up to garner 11 points in the 200 free relay (1:50.22) in the night's final event with a first-place time.
The William Paterson women will compete in the regular-season's finale at Wightman Pool for the 2017-18 campaign when the The College of New Jersey Lions (3-5, 2-2 NJAC) come to Wayne Saturday, Feb. 3, at 1:00 p.m.
