UNION, N.J. – Second-seeded and 24th-ranked William Paterson (28-11, 15-3 NJAC) was eliminated from the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Softball Tournament, 1-0, by fifth-seeded Stockton (23-19-1, 9-8-1 NJAC) May 6.

The Ospreys scored the game's lone run with a two-out base hit, stolen base and RBI-single through the right side of the infield during the bottom of the fifth inning.

WP had two on with one out in the second, and two on with two outs in the third, fifth and sixth innings, but could not come up with a run.

The Pioneers kept Stockton off the scoreboard during the home half of the fourth when junior center fielder Eleni Lutas (Pompton Plains, N.J./Pequannock) connected with senior catcher Kim Fryer (East Stroudsburg, Pa./East Stroudsburg South) to record the third out of the inning at the plate.

Senior first baseman Salina Pellios (Middlesex, N.J./Middlesex) and senior shortstop Rachel Wasilak (Livingston, N.J./Livingston) each tallied a pair of hits.

Senior Allison Podmajersky (Red Bank, N.J./Middletown South) scattered five hits over 6.0 innings, walking one and striking out two (11-7).

Five different Ospreys had hits, and sophomore center fielder Carli Shaw provided the RBI. Classmate Victoria Torp (11-9) tossed the complete-game shutout, allowing seven hits and two walks while posting a pair of strikeouts.
