ANNVILLE, PA. – A goal in the 86th minute brought William Paterson's (9-9-3) season to an end in the ECAC Men's Soccer Tournament semifinal round Nov. 19, a 2-1 defeat at Lebanon Valley (15-4).
WP took an early 1-0 lead when freshman midfielder
Darwin Cruz (Bayonne, N.J./Bayonne) got on the end of a corner kick into the box and slipped the ball into the net in the 12th minute.
LBC senior midfielder Alex Detweiler sent a pass to senior forward/midfielder Gabe Stasyszyn, who finished for the equalizer at the 68:20 mark.
Junior midfielder Matt Prince broke free near the box and shot a ball that was saved, but the rebound went right to junior forward/midfielder Tyler Skye, who knocked it in to give the Dutchmen a 2-1 advantage with 4:26 remaining.
Freshman goalkeeper
Kyle Quigley (Columbus, N.J./Northern Burlington Regional) had five saves for the Pioneers, and junior Cam Avery posted three stops for Lebanon Valley.
