Field Hockey Drops 1-0 Senior Day Decision to No. 18 Kean

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson field hockey team (8-10, 2-4 NJAC) dropped a 1-0 Senior Day decision to visiting No.18 Kean (16-2, 4-2 NJAC) during the Pioneers' season finale Oct. 29.
 
After nearly 57 minutes of scoreless play, the Cougars broke through with a penalty-corner goal when junior forward Krista LaMaina inserted to freshman midfielder Jenna Patrone on the left wing, who slid a ball across the circle toward the right post, and sophomore back Kayla Molnar finished it for the game's lone goal.
 
Sophomore Mallory Rickerhauser (Lumberton, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional) collected three saves for the Pioneers, and sophomore Erin Smith made four stops for Kean.
 
Prior to the game, WP honored its five seniors Courtney Allen (Woodbine, N.J./Ocean City), Maureen Gill (Branchville, N.J./High Point Regional), Samantha Monzo (Mays Landing, N.J./Oakcrest), Meghin Stanton (Chesterfield, N.J./Northern Burlington Regional) and Jessie Super (Oaklyn, N.J./Collingswood).
