WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson field hockey team (8-10, 2-4 NJAC) dropped a 1-0 Senior Day decision to visiting No.18 Kean (16-2, 4-2 NJAC) during the Pioneers' season finale Oct. 29.
After nearly 57 minutes of scoreless play, the Cougars broke through with a penalty-corner goal when junior forward Krista LaMaina inserted to freshman midfielder Jenna Patrone on the left wing, who slid a ball across the circle toward the right post, and sophomore back Kayla Molnar finished it for the game's lone goal.
Sophomore
Mallory Rickerhauser (Lumberton, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional) collected three saves for the Pioneers, and sophomore Erin Smith made four stops for Kean.
