HOBOKEN, N.J. – The William Paterson field hockey team (6-8) was upended by host Stevens (9-6), 3-1, Oct. 15.
Senior forward Taylor Welch handed the Ducks a 1-0 lead when she finished a Katti Thomasian pass in the fourth minute, then made it a 2-0 margin when she scored on a fast break feed from Nolie Prouty at the 32:06 mark.
Junior forward
Katie Stetser (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) converted a pass from junior forward
Carly Satter (Branchville, N.J./High Point Regional), cutting the advantage to 2-1 in the 52nd minute.
Prouty one-timed a pass from junior forward Victoria Alvarez for an insurance goal less than seven minutes later.
Sophomore
Mallory Rickerhauser (Lumberton, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional) posted six saves for the Pioneers, and senior Emily Stukenborg made seven stops for the Ducks.
The Pioneers will host Ramapo Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 7:00 p.m.
