Video Highlights WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's soccer team (4-9-3, 1-5-2 NJAC) celebrated Senior Night by posting a 0-0 double-overtime tie against No. 7 The College of New Jersey (11-1-4, 6-0-2 NJAC) Oct. 24.
The Lions built an 18-0 shot advantage during regulation, including two strikes that hit the crossbar during the final minute, but couldn't find the back of the net as the two teams were forced to go to overtime. Sophomore Elizabeth Thoresen's shot was punched wide by WP senior goalkeeper
Kat Clint (Flanders, N.J./Mount Olive) with six minutes left during the first overtime period, and Clint's diving save of a Lauren Malajian attempt kept TCNJ off the scoreboard less than four minutes into the second extra session.
Clint finished with a career-high 14 saves, while sophomore Briyanna Femia had one stop for the Lions.
Prior to the match, WP honored seniors Clint,
Gina Cowdrick (Island Heights, N.J./Central Regional) and
Elena Grady (Washington Twp., N.J./Our Lady of Mercy).
William Paterson will finish its season Wednesday, Oct. 28, at New Jersey City at 3:00 p.m.
