Box Score Video Highlights WAYNE, N.J. – Junior
Juan Sebastian Londono (Morristown, N.J./Morristown) scored a pair of goals as the William Paterson men's soccer team (3-3) twice fought back from deficits, registering a 3-2 victory against visiting King's (5-2) Sept. 16.
The Monarchs struck first when junior Chris Nygren played a ball from the left side to the center of the box and classmate Keegan Fees finished just 7:21 into the contest.
The Pioneers answered less than two minutes later as junior
Carlos Arevalo (North Haledon, N.J./St. Benedict's Prep) made a slick pass to set up senior midfielder O
mar Jallow (Union City, N.J./Union City). Jallow's first shot was stopped by King's keeper
Tyler Morris, but he cleaned up the rebound for his third goal of the year and a 1-1 score.
Senior Brian Alifano made it a 2-1 Monarch advantage when his shot deflected off a defender and found the inside the post in the 37th minute.
Freshman
Justin Russell (Hillside, N.J./David Brearley) nearly had the equalizer when his attempt hit the right post in the 61st minute, but Londono took care of the situation two minutes later, receiving
Matt Lopuski's (Montville, N.J./Montville Twp.) throw in, spinning to his right on launching a shot to the left side of the goal.
Londono then provided the game winner in the 76th minute, taking junior
Jason Padilla's (West Orange, N.J./West Orange) pass and launching a blast from at least 25 yards out.
Sophomore
Mike Diacheysn (Nutley, N.J./Nutley) finished with one save for the Pioneers, and Wilson had three stops for King's.
William Paterson will play at Salisbury Saturday, Sept. 20, at 1:00 p.m.
