Men’s Soccer Nets Overtime Victory at John Jay, 3-2

Londono Scores Winner in Extra Time

Junior Carlos Arevalo scored a pair of goals during a 3-2 overtime victory at John Jay.
Box Score NEW YORK, N.Y. – Junior Juan Sebastian Londono (Morristown, N.J./Morristown) scored the game winner seven minutes into extra time as the William Paterson men's soccer team (2-3) defeated John Jay (0-5), 3-2, Sept. 10 on Randall's Island.

Junior Carlos Arevalo (North Haledon, N.J./St. Benedict's Prep) converted Londono's pass inside the box to hand the Pioneers a quick 1-0 lead a minute into the match, but the Bloodhounds' Thomas Malloy punched in a rebound 16 minutes later to level the score, and John Jay seized a 2-1 advantage at the 15:00 mark with a Korede Griffith strike.

Arevalo made it a 2-2 game with seven minutes remaining in regulation off an assist from junior back Aken Pierre (North Plainfield, N.J./St. Benedict's Prep). Londono's unassisted goal broke the deadlock seven minutes in to the overtime period.

Freshman Sal Fazio (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) finished with two saves for the Pioneers, and Vitecha Kochaon and Andrew Berman combined for 20 saves as WP owned a 37-6 shot advantage.

William Paterson will host King's Tuesday, Sept. 16, at 7:00 p.m. as the University celebrates Pioneer Pride Week with special giveaways for WP students at the match.
