WAYNE, N.J. – Senior back Marcus Hackett's (Montclair, N.J./Immaculate Conception) hat trick led the William Paterson men's soccer team (6-5-2) to a 4-0 victory against visiting St. Joseph's-Long Island (4-10) Oct. 7.
 
Senior midfielder Omar Jallow's (Union City, N.J./Union City) pass was finished by Hackett in front of goal 7:39 into the contest, and junior midfielder Mike Conte (Franklin, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) doubled the lead in the 13th minute, knocking in junior Sean Neal's (Franklin, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) cross from the right side.
 
Hackett connected on two more first-half Jallow passes, one at the 21:08 mark in front of goal and the other from the midfield in the 25th minute.
 
Sophomore keeper Mike Diacheysn (Nutley, N.J./Nutley) made three saves in the first 69:23, and freshman Sal Fazio (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) finished off the WP shutout. Freshman Spencer Hoek and sophomore Avery Gomez combined for five Golden Eagle stops.
 
William Paterson will visit Kean Saturday, Oct. 11, at 4:00 p.m.
