NEW YORK, N.Y. - The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team (1-0) defeated Baruch (0-1), 108-97, in its season opener Oct. 22.

There were two double winners for the Pioneers as sophomore Vera Blazevska (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) won the 200-meter IM (2:43.66) and the 100-meter breast (1:18.05), and junior Brittany English (Branchville, N.J./High Point Regional) touched first in the 100-meter (1:06.76) and 200-meter (2:16.13) frees.

Senior Sheri Brino (Ogdensburg, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) placed first in the 100-meter back (1:17.41).

William Paterson will host DU-Florham in its first home meet of the season Saturday, Oct. 25, at 1:00 p.m.
