Box Score MONTCLAIR, N.J. – Freshman forward
Leandro Lemache's (Carteret, N.J./St. Benedict's Prep) goal with less than four minutes remaining forced overtime, allowing the William Paterson men's soccer team (5-2-2, 0-1-1 NJAC) to come away from No. 17 Montclair State (7-1-1, 1-0-1 NJAC) with a 2-2, double-overtime tie Sept. 25.
Sophomore
Jose Arevalo (North Haledon, N.J./St. Benedict's Prep) broke through first, collecting his fifth goal of the season at the 17:30 mark. That one-goal advantage held up until nearly 14 minutes into the second half, when Maxx Wurzburger volleyed in a Lucas Terci pass for a 1-1 score in the 59th minute.
Joe Borrajo handed the Red Hawks their first lead of the night with a goal during the 80th minute of action, but Lemache finished a cross at the 86:06 mark to again tie the contest.
Freshman
Mike Diacheysn (Nutley, N.J./Nutley) made nine saves for the Pioneers, and Kevin Lynch had five for Montclair State
William Paterson will celebrate Homecoming Saturday, Sept. 28, at home against Richard Stockton at 6:00 p.m.
