Women’s Soccer Shuts Out New Jersey City, 3-0

Three Different Players Score for the Pioneers

Jackie Gage recorded a goal and an assist for the Pioneers
Box Score JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Three goals from three different Pioneers propelled the William Paterson women's soccer team (3-2-2, 1-0 NJAC) to a 3-0 victory at New Jersey City (1-3-1, 0-1 NJAC) Sept. 21.

Sophomore midfielder Jackie Gage (Tinton Falls, N.J./Monmouth Regional) got WP on the board at the 4:45 mark when she collected a loose ball off an Alexandra Hay (Whiting, N.J./Monsignor Donovan) corner kick and put it past the keeper.

In the 30th minute, junior back Julia Siersema (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Pleasant Borough) won a throw-in from classmate Shannon Maher (Hamilton, N.J./Steinert) and scored from the right wing to extend the Pioneer lead to 2-0.

Freshman midfielder Amanda Carmichael (Matawan, N.J./Matawan Regional) scored her first collegiate goal at the 60:40 mark when she tapped in a Gage pass from across the box to bring the score to 3-0.

WP outshot the Gothic Knights, 40-0.

Senior Alyssa Falduto (Nutley, N.J./Nutley) didn't need to make a save to earn the shutout for the Pioneers. Brittany Hoffman stopped 21 shots for the Gothic Knights.
