Women’s Swimming & Diving Improves to 8-1

Pioneers Defeat Mount Saint Mary 122-103

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming & diving team (8-1) earned a 122-103 victory against visiting Mount Saint Mary (4-3) Dec. 7.

The Pioneers had two double winners. Freshman Vera Blazevska (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) touched first in the 200 IM (2:22.49) and the 100 breast (1:12.17). Classmate Courtney Lawler (Northfield, N.J./Mainland Regional) won the one-meter (196.65) and three-meter (188.50) dives.

Junior Sheri Brino (Ogdensburg, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) posted a winning time of 1:06.35 in the 100 back, and senior Kathryn Burke (Sewell, N.J./Washington Twp.) finished first in the 100 fly (1:06.52).

Sophomore Brittany English (Branchville, N.J./High Point Regional) placed first in the 100 free with a time of 59.84.

William Paterson will travel to Adelphi on Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 6:00 p.m.
