WAYNE, N.J. – William Paterson (3-8-2, 1-4 NJAC) suffered a 3-1 women's soccer loss against visiting Ramapo (5-7, 2-2 NJAC) Oct. 9.
Senior Jennifer Stone headed in Katie Popowych's corner kick 2:08 into the match, but sophomore
Jackie Gage (Tinton Falls, N.J./Monmouth Regional) evened the contest at the 23:47 mark when she received a pass in the middle of the box from junior
Alana Keffer (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Pleasant Borough) and scored to the right post.
Freshman Campbell Duffy once again pushed the Roadrunners in front, this time with a 30-yard free kick from the left flank in the 41st minute.
Ramapo had a chance to double its lead less than four minutes into the second period, but senior keeper
Mary Jane Seiler (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) dove to her right and stopped Popowych's penalty kick. However, the Roadrunners did tack on an insurance goal during the 80th minute when sophomore Nicole Ninomiya finished off her own rebound.
Seiler finished with six saves for the Pioneers, and senior Talia Auslin had four stops for Ramapo.
William Paterson will host The College of New Jersey Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 5:00 p.m.
