WAYNE, N.J. – A late goal from senior forward Jacqui Giammetta (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) propelled the William Paterson field hockey team (7-6, 0-3 NJAC) to a 1-0 victory against Misericordia (3-9, 1-1 MAC Freedom) Oct. 8.

After 66 minutes of back-and-forth play, Giammetta put the Pioneers on the board when she found a pass from sophomore forward Angelica Giammetta (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills), battled through a scramble in the middle and put the ball into the back of the cage.

Senior Kellye Statz (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) made seven saves in the shutout for WP. Angela Pasquini stopped two shots for the Cougars.

William Paterson will host Richard Stockton Friday, Oct. 11, at 7:00 p.m.
