WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson men's soccer team (7-3-2, 2-2-1 NJAC) scored twice in the second half to come back and earn a 2-1 victory against Rowan (6-6, 0-4 NJAC), Oct. 5.
The Profs got on the board in the 14th minute when Dylan Smith found a pass from Brian Kahn and shot it into the bottom right corner of the net to give Rowan a 1-0 lead.
Sophomore back
Aken Pierre (North Plainfield, N.J./St. Benedict's Prep) tied the game for the Pioneers when he headed in a
Matt Nigro (Morganville, N.J./Marlboro) free kick at the 73:18 mark. The two connected again when Nigro directed a pass from Pierre into the back of the net in the 77th minute to give WP a 2-1 lead.
Freshman
Mike Diacheysn (Nutley, N.J./Nutley) made four saves for the Pioneers, while Kevin Vasta stopped five shots for Rowan.
William Paterson will travel to The College of New Jersey on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 1:00 p.m.
