Box Score PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – Senior forward
Hugh Riley (Tinton Falls, N.J./Monmouth Regional) found the back of the net but it wasn't enough as the William Paterson men's soccer team (7-5-2) dropped a 2-1 decision at St. Joseph's-Long Island (3-11-2) Oct. 16.
Gaetano Innamorato dribbled past a defender and scored an unassisted goal to break open the scoring 10 seconds into the second half, and Terrence Dzus headed in Chris Hall's corner kick in the 53rd minute before Riley's unassisted goal at the 56:00 mark.
Freshman goalkeeper
Matt Hernandez (Fort Lee, N.J./Fort Lee) made two saves for the Pioneers and Avery Gomez had five stops for the Golden Eagles as WP owned a 22-9 shot advantage.
William Paterson will host No. 8 Rutgers-Camden Saturday, Oct. 19, at 1:00 p.m.
