Box Score MAHWAH, N.J. – William Paterson (9-6, 2-3 NJAC) kept pace in the race for a berth in the upcoming New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Field Hockey Tournament with a 3-0 victory at Ramapo (0-12, 0-3 NJAC) Oct. 15.

The Pioneers currently sit in fifth place in the league standings behind Kean (2-1) and Rowan (1-1). WP has just one conference game remaining (home vs. Rowan Nov. 2), and the top four teams will qualify for the NJAC Tournament that begins Nov. 6.

Senior forward Brianne Cox (Browns Mills, N.J./Pemberton Twp.) found the back of the cage twice against the Roadrunners, the first an unassisted goal in the 15th minute and the second off a Courtnaey Chelf (Blackwood, N.J./Triton Regional) assist at the 62:03 mark. Just 68 seconds later, senior forward Jessica Nendze (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) knocked in a pass from sophomore Angelica Giammetta (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) for a late insurance goal.

Senior Kellye Statz (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) did not need to make a save for the Pioneers, while Alicia Lyons had 10 stops for Ramapo.

William Paterson will host Stevens Wednesday, Oct. 23, at 7:00 p.m.
