Field Hockey Suffers 3-0 Loss

Pioneers Drop Home Contest Against New Paltz

WAYNE, N.J. – New Paltz (2-0) scored three second-half goals for a 3-0 victory at William Paterson (1-2) in field hockey action Sept. 5 at Wightman Stadium.

Junior Alicia Aragosa put the Hawks on the scoreboard in the 51st minute, finishing a ball at the right post.  She notched her second goal of the night a little more than four minutes later, knocking in a loose ball from the right side after a series of attempts from the left off a penalty corner.

Sophomore Emily Vanacore nailed a quick shot from the left wing, getting on the end of Lauren Link's long through ball for the final goal of the night in the 60th minute.

Junior Kellye Statz (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) had 12 saves for the Pioneers and junior Antonija Pjetri made six stops for New Paltz.

William Paterson will take on McDaniel Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Mary Washington Tournament at 11:00 a.m.
