WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson field hockey team (2-8) allowed two second-half goals in a 2-0 loss to Drew (6-2) on Sept. 25.
Drew got on the board in the 60th minute when sophomore forward Melissa Boyd played a broken corner across the middle where senior forward Sarah Charles put it in the cage for her 10th goal of the season.
The Rangers scored again when freshman forward Taryn Murphy tipped in a pass from junior midfielder Danielle Waleko at the 65:29 mark.
Junior
Kellye Statz (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) made three saves for WP, and Christina Carlini had four for Drew.
William Paterson will take on No. 3 The College of New Jersey Saturday, Sept. 29, in Ewing, N.J., at 1:00 p.m.
