MADISON, N.J. – Senior
Laela Brock (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) scored the game winner in the 72nd minute as William Paterson (4-4-2) rallied from a two-goal deficit for a 3-2 women's soccer victory at FDU-Florham (1-8) Sept. 24.
The Devils scored twice during a two-minute span late in the first half, carrying that 2-0 lead into halftime. The Pioneers began to chip away 13 minutes into the second period when junior
Sheray Anthony (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) tapped in a
Michelle Marabondo (Kenvil, N.J./Roxbury) cross.
Marabondo scored her league-leading 13th goal of the year, beating FDU-Florham keeper Anna Bandly 1v1 in the 69th minute off an assist from Brock. Marabondo then set up Brock for the game winner less than three minutes later to cap the comeback.
Junior
Mary Jane Seiler (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) played the first half for WP, making two saves, and classmate
Alyssa Falduto (Nutley, N.J./Nutley) had one second-half stop. Bandly finished with four saves for the Devils.
