MONTCLAIR, N.J. – The William Paterson women's soccer team (3-3-2, 1-1 NJAC) fell at Montclair State (7-0-1, 1-0 NJAC), 2-1 in double overtime, Sept. 19.
Senior forward
Michelle Marabondo (Kenvil, N.J./Roxbury) scored her conference-leading 11th goal of the season on a rebound shot off crossbar at the 17:26 mark.
The Red Hawks got on the board when freshman forward Janae Geonnetti found the back of the net in the 53rd minute.
Freshman forward Martina Landeka scored on a loose ball in the box at the 106:28 mark in double overtime to win the game for Montclair State.
Junior
Mary Jane Seiler (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) started in net for the Pioneers, stopping seven of the nine shots she faced. Sophomore Gina Policastro made five saves for Montclair State.
William Paterson will continue NJAC play Saturday, Sept. 22, at 5:00 p.m. against Richard Stockton on Homecoming at Pioneer Soccer Park.
