EWING, N.J. – The William Paterson women's soccer team (5-7-2, 2-4 NJAC) fell at No. 23 The College of New Jersey (11-1, 5-1 NJAC), 3-1, on Oct. 6.
The Lions got off to a quick start, as junior forward Katie Lindacher found junior midfielder Sloan DePiero on a long cross from the right side just 14 seconds into the match.
Landrigan picked up her second assist of the game at the 35:06 mark when she sent a long lead pass to sophomore forward Korrie Harkins, who found the back of the net.
DePiero put the Lions up 3-0 when she connected with a cross from the left side of the box from senior midfielder Amy Van Dyk at the 54:13 mark.
Senior forward
Michelle Marabondo (Kenvil, N.J./Roxbury) got the Pioneers on the board, scoring her NJAC-leading 16th goal of the season on a penalty kick in the 88th minute.
Junior
Mary Jane Seiler (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) played the first half for WP, recording one save. Freshman
Kat Clint (Flanders, N.J./Mount Olive) played 10 minutes for the Pioneers, stopping the only shot she faced. Junior
Alyssa Falduto (Nutley, N.J./Nutley) played the final 35 minutes for WP, making five saves. Kendra Griffith made four saves for the Lions.
William Paterson will host Rutgers-Camden Saturday, Oct. 13, at 6:00 p.m.
