DALLAS, Pa. – Freshman
Felicia Wetzel (Hardyston, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) found the back of the cage twice, including the game winner in overtime, to help lead the William Paterson field hockey team (3-9) to a 3-2 victory at Misericordia (2-10) Oct. 3.
Sophomore
Shannon Fisher (Denville, N.J./Morris Knolls) got the scoring started in the 38th minute, followed 1:07 later by Lindsay Hischak's first goal of the game for Misericordia.
Wetzel knocked in an
Annalis Mitcho (Glassboro, N.J./Gloucester County Institute of Technology) pass for a 2-1 WP advantage at the 53:35 mark, but Hischak answered with an unassisted strike less than nine minutes before the end of regulation. Wetzel then ended the game with her goal 1:19 into the overtime, using an assist from sophomore
Courtnaey Chelf (Blackwood, N.J./Triton Regional).
Junior
Kellye Statz (Robbinsville, N.J./Robbinsville) posted six saves for the Pioneers and Grace Riker had four for the Cougars.
William Paterson will play at Richard Stockton Saturday, Oct. 6, at 2:00 p.m.
