Women’s Swimming & Diving Loses Season Opener

Pioneers Fall at Baruch, 116-89

Senior Taylor McKay won the 400-meter free (5:17.87) at Baruch.
NEW YORK, N.Y. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team (0-1) dropped a season-opening 116-89 decision at Baruch (1-0) Oct. 27.

Sophomore Sheri Brino (Ogdensburg, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) won the 800 free (10:47.96), junior Lauren Carney (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick) touched first in the 50 free (31.44), and senior Taylor McKay (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn) posted a win in the 400 free (5:17.87).  Freshman Gabrielle Porcaro (Belleville, N.J./Belleville) finished just behind McKay in second place in the 400 free (5:25.28; all distances in meters).

William Paterson will host Maritime Thursday, Nov. 1, in the Pioneers' home opener at 6:00 p.m.
