William Paterson Women’s Soccer Romps Over Ramapo, 6-0

Anthony and Marabondo Each Score Five Points

Sophomore Sheray Anthony scored five points as the Pioneers rolled over Ramapo, 6-0.

WAYNE, N.J. – Sophomore forward Sheray Anthony (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) and junior forward Michelle Marabondo (Kenvil, N.J./Roxbury) each scored five points as William Paterson (2-4, 1-3 NJAC) rolled to a 6-0 romp against Ramapo (2-5-2, 1-3 NJAC) in New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) women's soccer action Sept. 28.

Marabondo's cross from the right side found a sprinting Anthony, who laced a shot into the right corner to give the Pioneers a 1-0 advantage less than 15 minutes into the contest.  William Paterson struck again in the 41st minute as a ball from Laela Brock (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) found the foot of Megan Droelle (Hampton, N.J./North Hunterdon) at the top of the box, putting the Pioneers ahead, 2-0.

Marabondo was fouled inside the box early in the second half and blasted a penalty kick inside the right post, giving the Pioneers a 3-0 advantage.  Anthony and Marabondo connected again in the 76th minute as Anthony crossed a ball from the right end and Marabondo finished on the left post to stretch the lead to 4-0.  With 6:30 left to play, freshman Alana Keffer (Point Pleasant, N.J./Point Pleasant Borough) chipped a shot up and over the goalkeeper's head and found the back of the net.  Anthony found the back of the net for the second time on the night after a cross from the left side off the foot of sophomore Nicole Sullivan (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial), scoring the final goal of the match in the 86th minute.

Pioneer goalkeeper Alyssa Falduto (Nutley, N.J./Nutley) made two saves for her second shutout of the season.  Senior Talia Auslin recorded 11 saves as William Paterson owned a 24-4 shot advantage.
