WILKES-BARRE, PA. – The William Paterson men's golf team (2-1) finished its season by splitting a pair of decisions during a tri-match April 26 at the par-72 Wilkes-Barre Municipal Golf Course. The Pioneers (325, +37) lost to Scranton (297, +9) and defeated host Wilkes (327, +39).
Juniors
Shane Edwards (Newton, N.J./Newton) and
Matt Scozzari (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon) tied for seventh overall with eight-over-par 80s. Classmate
Matt Deering (Howell, N.J./St. John Vianney) posted an 82 (+10), junior
Paul Link (Wayne, N.J./Hazleton, Pa.) carded an 83 (+11) and junior
Jim Bakelaar (Midland Park, N.J./Midland Park) posted a 90 (+18).
Scranton's Brad Sparks had the best round of the day with a one-under 71.
