BOX SCORE

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's soccer team (2-7, 1-5 NJAC) lost to No. 13 The College of New Jersey (9-1, 6-0 NJAC) 2-1, Oct. 8 at Pioneer Soccer Park.

William Paterson jumped out to an early lead when midfielder Laela Brock (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) finished a cross from Sophie Hart-Ruderman (Maplewood, N.J./Columbia) in the 13th minute.

TCNJ tied the game at 1-1 in the 30th minute when Brittany McGinley beat a Pioneer defender and fired a shot past WP goalkeeper Alyssa Falduto (Nutley, N.J./Nutley) from the left side of the penalty box, tallying her eight goal of the season.  The Lions exerted a substantial amount of pressure in the first half and went into the break with a 10-1 advantage in shots.

Falduto made eight saves in goal for the Pioneers, and Cristina Gacos had two saves for TCNJ.
