After owning a 9-1 shot advantage in the first half, William Paterson finally capitalized as junior
Dan Patton (Pennsauken, N.J./Pennsauken) finished a scramble in front of the box, assisted by
Anthony Ferrer (Lake Hiawatha, N.J./Parsippany), to hand the Pioneers a 1-0 advantage 1:55 into the second period.
Rutgers-Camden found the back of the net in the 63rd minute when VanLiew launched a ball downfield that was finished by Mitch Grotti, knotting the score at 1-1.
A penalty kick by Joe Auleta in the 85th minute proved to be the winning goal for the Scarlet Raptors, as WP was whistled for a hand ball in the box. The Pioneers were close to tying the game with 75 seconds left, but Ferrer drilled a shot that bounced off the left post.
