Box Score

MONTCLAIR, N.J. – Sophomore Michelle Marabondo (Kenvil, N.J./Roxbury) provided the lone goal of the afternoon to give William Paterson (5-2-1, 2-0 NJAC) its fifth-straight women's soccer victory, a 1-0 triumph at Montclair State (3-4-2, 0-2 NJAC) Sept. 22.

Following a scoreless first half during which the Pioneers dominated in shots, 9-1, it was an outstanding individual effort by Marabondo that got William Paterson on the scoreboard. The sophomore ran on to a ball toe-poked through by Sheray Anthony (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) and carried it 20 yards to just outside the box, firing a shot to the left post. The unassisted goal, her fourth strike of the year, came in the 78th minute of play.

Freshman goalkeeper Alyssa Falduto (Nutley, N.J./Nutley) came up with three saves for the Pioneers, and Marisa Zayac had three stops for the Red Hawks.

William Paterson will host Richard Stockton Saturday, Sept. 25, at 1:00 p.m.
