NEWARK, N.J. – Rutgers-Newark (5-3-3, 1-2-1 NJAC) junior goalkeeper Matt Zielyk and William Paterson's (5-1-4, 0-0-3 NJAC) Dan Peragallo (North Brunswick, N.J./North Brunswick) were outstanding as the teams played to a 0-0 double-overtime tie in New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) men's soccer action Sept. 30 at Alumni Field.

Zielyk stopped four shots and got help with four team saves to post his fifth shutout of the season, while Peragallo posted six saves and benefitted from two team stops to record his third shutout of the year.

Peragallo made a diving finger-tip deflection of a shot by sophomore midfielder Ronald Quiroz in the 11th minute to help carry the contest to overtime. He stopped a header by sophomore forward Richie Villamar in the 92nd minute to keep it scoreless.

The Scarlet Raiders had a slim 16-14 edge in shots, while William Paterson controlled corner kicks, 7-4, in the tightly-contested battle.
