Women's Soccer Ties at FDU-Florham, 1-1

Wagoner Scores Her First Goal of the Year for Pioneers

Junior Drea Wagoner's goal tied the match during the 25th minute of an eventual 1-1 draw at FDU-Florham.

MADISON, N.J. -- Junior Drea Wagoner (Little Falls, N.J./Passaic Valley) scored her first goal of the year in the 26th minute, evening the score in what would eventually become a 1-1 double-overtime tie for the William Paterson women's soccer team (2-2-1) at FDU-Florham Sept. 12. 

The Devils scored first when Kim Campfield found the back of the net in the 19th minute, but the Pioneers quickly responded when Wagoner connected on an Ashley Grabowski (Woodbridge, N.J./Woodbridge) assist less than seven minutes later. 

William Paterson owned a 15-9 advantage in shots, including a 3-1 edge during the two overtime periods. Senior Meaghan Baker (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls) made two saves for the Pioneers, while Lauren Albrecht and Melanie Pierson combined for four saves for FDU-Florham.

The Pioneers will return to action Wednesday, Sept. 16, with a 4:00 p.m. match at Centenary.
