WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson women's swimming and diving team (11-2, 1-2 NJAC) won every event in a 131-94 victory against visiting Ramapo (3-8, 0-4 NJAC) Feb. 3.
Three Pioneers were triple winners against the Roadrunners. Freshman
Brett Kuchin (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) touched first in the 100 breast (1:14.04), 200 breast (2:40.95) and 200 IM (2:27.41), senior
Grace McKay (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn) won the 100 back (1:02.6), 200 back (2:17.2) and 100 fly (1:07.8), and classmate
Cathy Hartwell (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East) finished first in the 50 (26.5), 100 (58.1) and 200 (2:08.4) frees.
Sophomore
Kirsten Shea (Turnersville, N.J./Washington Twp.) had the swim of the meet with a time of 11:45.69 in the 1,000 free. Freshman
Stephanie Smith (West Orange, N.J./West Orange) picked up her first college win with a time of 2:36.11 in the 200 fly, and sophomore
Lauren Horowitz (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) touched first in the 500 free (5:53.69).
William Paterson will celebrate Senior Day and finish the regular season Saturday, Feb. 7, when the Pioneers host Montclair State at 1:00 p.m.
