WAYNE, N.J. – Three double winners led the way for the William Paterson women's swimming and diving team (2-1) in a 108-89 victory against Baruch (0-1) Oct. 29.
Senior
Giana Albruzzese (Parsippany, N.J./Parsippany) won both the one-meter required (108.67) and optional (138.00) dives, while
Brett Kuchin (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill East) touched first in the 200 IM (2:27.52) and 200 breast (2:41.42), and junior
Lauren Horowitz (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) won the 500 (6:02.85) and 1,000 (12:21.36) frees.
Sophomore
Lesly Mendoza (Passaic, N.J./Paramus Catholic) finished first in the 200 free (2:13.9), and senior
Caitlin Rotondo (Brick, N.J./Methacton) was the winner of the 100 free (58.69).
The 400 medley relay team of
Donna Balagtas (Clifton, N.J./Clifton), Kuchin,
Stephanie Smith (West Orange, N.J./West Orange) and Rotondo won with a time of 4:30.20. The Pioneers also won the 400 free relay with a time of 4:10.33 established by Mendoza,
Taylor McKay (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn),
Tara Graham (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Hills) and
Christine Uporsky (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills Regional).
William Paterson will compete at the Mount Saint Mary Invitational Saturday, Oct. 31.
