Marabondo Scores for Pioneers

The Pioneers helped raise money for breast cancer research with a 50-50 raffle during the Drew match.

WAYNE, N.J. – Freshman Michelle Marabondo (Kenvil, N.J./Roxbury) scored the lone goal of the match less than 15 minutes in as William Paterson (7-6-3) defeated Drew (6-7-2), 1-0, Oct. 22 at Pioneer Soccer Park.

Marabondo headed in a ball from junior Samantha Pena (Ogdensburg, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional), her second goal of the year. The Pioneers out-shot the Rangers, 13-2, and owned an 8-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Senior Meaghan Baker (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls) made one save for William Paterson, and freshman Kimberly Jaikisson had four stops for Drew.

William Paterson will celebrate Senior Night Saturday, Oct. 24, at 6:00 p.m. when the Pioneers host Montclair State.
